Creating Caring Communities Course starting 5 November 2022 – Registration Form CCC

This short course, Creating Caring Communities (CCC), aims to build a foundation to
grow congregations as supportive communities and in numbers. It was devised by
the Anglican Church of Southern Queensland and fills a space in training offered by
the Lutheran Church of Australia Qld District.
While St Andrews has a caring and welcoming feeling, we can be unaware of the
actions and words that can unintentionally cause others to feel excluded or not
valued.
The course of 4 sessions, each of 3-4 hours, builds participants’ understanding and
skills gradually, providing an opportunity for them to use what they have learned, in
their daily interactions, whether at home, work, school, in the community, at church
or at social and sports clubs: everywhere, in fact.
To embed learning in the daily lives and interactions of participants, each session
concludes with Skills Practice using real scenarios from various activities and
ministries. While these scenarios may have arisen from within the context of
particular groups and ministries, similar situations could arise in interactions in St
Andrews and in other life contexts within the church as well as in other clubs,
groups, workplace Participants are encouraged to participate in a variety of these
scenarios to widen their experience and understanding.
Because building up the body of Christ is of great importance, this course,
conducted by a trained presenter, is provided for $25 per person. Other
denominations and those with no faith connection are also welcome to join this
course at the same fee. There are 24 places in this course.
Those who complete the course are awarded a Certificate of Completion. This
course was designed for Anglicans but is of benefit to all people, teaching an
awareness of what characterises a caring community and the skills to foster it.

welcome
